 Horkstow Village & Parish.
Horkstow is one of five that lie on the road that runs between the River Humber & Brigg. The five villages, collectively known as the "Low Villages" as they are located along the foot of the North Lincolnshire Wolds are Worlaby, Bonby, Saxby-all-Saints, Horkstow & South Ferriby.

The Location -   2 miles South of the River Humber on the north-western edge of the Wolds. It lies approximately 4 miles south-west from Barton and 9 north from Brigg.
 

 



Horkstow Bridge

The Village has a number of places of interest including Horkstow Bridge , Church of St Maurice, Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels, Horkstow Hall & the Manor House.
 

 



The Wolds

 
 Wolds & Ancholme Valley
You can also enjoy the River Ancholme as well as taking in the spectacular views of the Ancholme Valley from the high up on the North Lincolnshire Wolds.

St Maurice's Church

 
 Community
The Church of St Maurice is an ancient edifice of brick and stone, partly in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, aisles, north porch and a small western tower containing 3 bells.
 

 



Horkstow Hall

 
 History
The Doomsday Book (1086) referred to the village as "Horchetou".

A site of a Roman Villa was discovered in the grounds of Horkstow Hall in 1797 when a large mosaic pavement was found.
