The North Lincolnshire village of Flixborough is situated near to the River Trent, about 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Scunthorpe at Grid reference SE871150. It has a population of about 1000. A famous son of Flixborough is Sir Edmund Anderson who was Chief Justice of the Common Pleas during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and tried Mary, Queen of Scots.
