Introduction to Bottesford
Bottesford is a southern suburb of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England and a civil parish in its own right with a population of 11,177 (2001 census). Local features include Bottesford beck, St Peter's Ad Vincula, Bottesford Preceptory where it is said the Knight's Templar of St.John used as a base, and the infamous 'Leperchaun Lamppost' - a lamppost on the path corner joining Cambridge Avenue and Manor Road, displaying a transfer that came free with a packet of sweets, and was assigned to the lamppost almost 10 years ago by the comedy duo, Chris n' Ollie (see also, Comfaces). Bottesford also shares a border with Riddings.....Source Wikipedia
