Bardney Hall is a fine Queen Anne house built in the early 1700s for William Gildas as a private residence.
It is located on the corner of Whitecross Street , Preston Lane and Caistor Road, just opposite to Baysgarth Park main entrance.
It stands on the site of Bardney Abbey rectory, the Lincolnshire monastery owning much of Barton during the Middle Ages and is reputed to have a secret passage to Thornton Abbey.
The Hall has many fine architectural features which reflects the towns growing prosperity during the 18th century.
